1DROP WALLS — FAQ PAGE
PRICING & TIMELINE
How much does a mural cost in NYC?
Commissioned murals through 1DROP Walls start at $5,000 and typically range from $5,000 to $50,000 or more. Pricing is driven by scale, surface, location, and the artist's rate — a single interior wall sits at the lower end, while large-scale or exterior work runs higher. Every project is quoted after we understand the space and the brief.
How long does a mural take?
Most interior commissions take two to four weeks from approved design to completed install. Timeline depends on scale, surface prep, and site access — a lobby wall moves faster than a multi-story exterior. We lock dates before work begins so your opening isn't at risk.
PROCESS & CURATION
How does the commission process work?
The process runs in seven steps: client intake, creative strategy, artist matching, curation and qualification, budget and timeline, design proposal, and install. You approve the direction and the artist before anything touches the wall. We manage the project end-to-end.
How do you choose the artist?
We don't place artists — we match them. Every commission starts with your space and identity, then we curate from our roster of graffiti, street, and contemporary artists to fit the brief. You review the artist's body of work and approve the fit before we move forward.
Can the artwork reflect our brand?
Yes. The brief drives the work — palette, references, and tone are built around your identity, not imposed on it. The outcome should read as yours, not a generic mural dropped into your space.
What if we don't like the proposed design?
You approve the design before install — nothing goes on the wall unseen. Revisions are part of the proposal stage. We refine until the direction is right, then schedule the work.
LOGISTICS
Do you handle permits and insurance?
Yes. For exterior and commercial work we manage the insurance, and site logistics required to execute safely and legally in New York. You get a single point of contact — not a subcontractor to chase.
Interior or exterior — what do you do?
Both. We execute interior installations — lobbies, restaurants, offices, retail — and exterior facades and large-scale walls. Surface, prep, and permitting are handled accordingly for each.
SCOPE & COVERAGE
What kinds of spaces do you work with?
Hotels, restaurants, retail brands, corporate offices, developers, and private residences. We're a New York agency delivering across the US, backed by a global roster of artists. If a space shapes how people experience a brand, it's a fit.
Do you work with interior designers and architects?
Regularly. We partner with design firms, developers, and hospitality groups to bring artists into projects — slotting into your timeline and specs rather than working around them. Consider us the art layer of your build.
Do you do more than murals?
Yes. Beyond murals we produce live art activations, events, and digital design. The through-line is the same: matching the right artist to the right brief.
What areas do you serve?
New York City is home, and we deliver across the US. Our roster is global — artists based in Spain, Portugal, the UK, Ireland, Thailand, Norway, and Japan with international bodies of work — so when a project calls for a specific hand or a specific city, we can place the right artist anywhere. Location doesn't limit the work; the brief does.
